  This 6 hour course is designed to meet the requirements as stated by the Maryland State Department of Education, Office of Child Care.  Family child care facilities and centers are responsible for emergency plans, shelter in place procedures, relocation guidelines, parent notification and coordination with local authorities during a time of emergency.  (Childcare Management Solutions CKO-30539 with 3 hours Health, Safety and Nutrition and 3 hours professionalism)

    Create an Emergency Preparedness Plan

    Using the information about your program, you will use it to fill out your EP plan, then in Topic 11 you will upload it into the Assignment for grading. Once we grade your assignment, you will be able to complete your Course Evaluation and your certificate will be emailed to you automatically.

    
    

  • Emergency Plan Reivew Page

    The plan should be reviewed quarterly (every three months). The plan should include the months that you are scheduled to review it.

  • Emergency Drills Page

    There are three types of drills that should be conducted each month. The purpose of conducting these exercises is so that everyone will know what is expected of them in case of an emergency (adults and children).

    Download the Emergency Preparedness Plan template. You must use Microsoft Word or Open Office to update the plan. Microsoft Works does not work. If you us an Apple Mac, please convert into an Adobe Acrobat .pdf or MS Word compatible topic. Handwritten submissions will not be accepted. This is a document that needs to be updated on a regular basis.
    
  • Emergency Preparedness Plan (fillable .PDF) File

    This plan must be completed and submitted to receive credit for the course. Fill in the blanks and save the .pdf file.

    Once you submit your plan, we will review it and provide you with feedback. If you need to update your plan, you will be notified.

    Please complete the your final exam. A passing grade on your final exam and a complete Emergency Plan are required to pass the course.

    You should then complete the course evaluation and survey. Afterwards you can generate and download your certificate.
