Building a Literacy Foundation and Effective Guidance in the Classroom

This course provides strategies for building a Literacy Foundation. This is a 3 hour course on knowledge and skills to establish early literacy guidance in the classroom.

Establishing a Literacy Rich Environment

This course provides an overview of Foundational Literacy Skills and compliments the training provided in the lieracy training program. An 18 hour certificate in Establishing a Literach Rich Environment is awarded once you complete this course.

Expanding Literacy Through Children's Books

* This training will address the importance of children being introduced to books, stages of literacy development and how to assess quality books. Expanding literacy in early care programs and families will be reviewed. Various types of materials, props and resources which promote literacy development will be presented. (CKO 3 hours CUR) This is an optional course.
