This course is recommended for administrators and directors to operate a licensed childcare facility in Maryland. Course content includes Maryland COMAR, regulations for centers, indoor/outdoor compliance standards, insurance, and guidance on interviewing and retaining staff. Topics also include the role of leadership, budgeting, recordkeeping, staff management and development, food service, marketing, quality assessment tools and operating requirements. This course fulfills the requirement for 45 hours of administrative training for child care center directors. The course is self-paced and instructor-facilitated; Instructors will grade assignments and answer student questions. All course requirements must be met before a certificate will be awarded. Each 45 hour course takes a minimum of 3 weeks to complete.
