This course is recommended for administrators and directors to operate a licensed childcare facility in the District of Columbia. Course content includes DC regulations for centers, indoor/outdoor compliance standards, insurance, and guidance on interviewing
and retaining staff. Topics also include the role of leadership, budgeting, recordkeeping, staff management and development, food service, marketing, quality assessment tools and operating requirements. This course fulfills the requirement for 45
hours of administrative training for child care center directors. The course is instructor-facilitated and self-paced. Instructors will grade assignments and schedule bi-weekly video sessions. All course requirements must be met before a certificate
will be awarded.
